Max Hunter is a designer, engineer and creative technologist with a wide skillset and a portfolio of projects from West End and arena-level touring shows, large-scale high-tech immersive art installations, through to low-power automotive hardware.
After graduating with a BSc in Physics from Imperial College, he worked at University College London in an experimental neuroscience laboratory, designing software and hardware to obtain, process and organise hundreds of petabytes of data from multisensory audiovisual experiments, before moving into sound design. His theoretical background combined with his practical experience working in the professional sound reinforcement industry in dozens of countries gives him an unparalleled skillset to develop and design immersive, cinematic live experiences and extraordinary, unusual projects.
Recent touring live sound FOH credits at arenas and festivals around the world include British Summertime Festival in Hyde Park and the Royal Albert Hall, for artists including 5-time Grammy Award-winning The Swingle Singers, Anne-Marie, KSI, 2CELLOS, Anna Meredith, the BBC Philharmonic Orchestra and London Contemporary Orchestra. Immersive, theatre and opera sound design credits include The Choir of Man (London, Edinburgh), Denis & Katya (Montpellier, France), Umm Kulthum (Dubai Opera, London Palladium), Cereal CafĂ© (The Other Palace, London), Mr Tipsy’s Down The Hatch (London), PS.
